Summersong

I hope you are having a wonderful summer. Here are lyrics to a song from GLAD: Canticles of Benevolence. It is a song about the summers of my youth.

Summer leaves, green and lovely,

Nod in trees right above me,

Nodding in agreement,

Summer time is here.

Boats come into the harbor.

Throwing lines port and starboard,

Barbecues on the dock,

Summertime is here.

I have waited for some long time

for it to be summer time,

Spending daylight savings time,

lazing out in the sunshine.

Summer dance in the evening,

Summer heat becomes seething,

The guys take off their shirts.

Summer time is here.

You may purchase this and other songs by Gail & Charlie Davis at The church office Tuesday-Friday, 9am–5pm throughout July. All proceeds from CDs sold at the church will go to the Ministers Discretionary Fund to help people in financial need.

$15 GLAD: Canticles of Benevolence (2012). This collection explores different aspects of being happy and discovers that we do not become glad by getting good stuff. Gladness grows when we share.

$10 1LUV4ALL (2010). This collection explores various aspects of Unitarian Universalism. It contains chants for the 7 principles, plus songs about Prayer, Love, Mercy and the Human Spirit.

With Gratitude & Hope,
Rev. Charlie
