September is typically a time of renewed activity at the UUC, with this month certainly being no exception. A short list of upcoming events includes the traditional Water Communion Service, the start of Religious Exploration classes, the Service Auction, and the “Building Your Own Theology” workshops. The scheduling of these activities is coordinated through Program Council, which meets at 7PM on the first Tuesday of every month. This is an open forum where committee and interest group representatives gather to discuss and help schedule the upcoming events on the UUC calendar. The success of these events depends on careful planning by both volunteers and staff.
Program Council is sponsoring an Opportunity Fair on September 15th. Representatives from several committees and interest groups within the UUC will be available in the Fellowship Hall before and after service to provide information about their activities. This is an excellent chance to find out more about what’s happening at the church and, perhaps, find a group that shares your interests.
On the financial front, the Service Auction on September 21 is one of our biggest fundraisers. By all accounts, this year’s “Get Your Green On” auction promises to be an event you won’t want to miss. If you’re interested in tickets, volunteering, or donating please contact Julie Rubsam at 765-412-2967.
We have a lot of exciting things happening this month at the UUC. I hope to see you there.
